Cocoa Beach and surrounding areas are overflowing with options for your recreation and enjoyment. Whether you’re looking to venture out of Cocoa Beach or find a more local activity, you will have a variety of choices.
Within Cocoa Beach city limits you will find 6 miles of beaches with excellent access, oceanfront parks with restrooms, showers and picnic tables. There is a state of the art skate park and numerous children's playgrounds throughout the city. Cocoa Beach has excellent hotel accommodations as well as smaller "mom and pop" motels and timeshares. Take a tour of the Banana River Lagoon by boat or kayak and see a dazzling array of marine life and wildlife in their natural habitat.
Getaway by land
The Orlando Area attractions: Disney World, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Sea World, Universal and MGM Studios are all within 60 miles. Or visit interesting sites closer to the Beach like the spectacular Brevard County Zoo.
At the end-of-the-day, you can return to Cocoa Beach to enjoy dinner at one of the many dining establishments on the beach. Relax and kick back, enjoy the easy coastal-style nightlife in Cocoa Beach. Local restaurants offer tasty fares for every appetite. Nightlife activities run the gamut from cool jazz clubs to beach side cafes.
Port Canaveral is a home base to a number of world class cruise ships and is located minutes from Cocoa Beach! Port Canaveral offers more than just cruises and has more recreational facilities than ALL of the other Ports in the state of Florida combined. Deep sea fishing tours, day sails and casino cruises are also available from the port. Port Canaveral recently became the new home to one of the world’s largest cruise ships; Royal Caribbean International’s Oasis of the Seas which has a stunning capacity of 6,360 passengers, a crew of 2,394 and is the third largest cruise ship in the world. Closely following behind is the Norwegian Cruise Line’s Epic which has a capacity of 4,100 and a crew of 1,708. In addition, in 2018 Disney will be basing three ships at the Port. Cruise’s from the Port typically range from three to fifteen nights however, as mentioned above, shorter cruise options for convenient day trips are also available.
Kennedy Space Center - Cape Canaveral
Visiting the Kennedy Space Center is a must, especially if you have family or friends visiting from out of town. Many attractions to see and an extensive amount of information on the US Space Program, this facility is rich with history and only 30 minutes away from Cocoa Beach. The Space Center also provides quite the thrill on a Shuttle Launch Experience simulator, you can experience first-hand what it feels like to take an eight-and-a-half-minute ascent into orbit! You will be able to see day and night rocket launches right from your home, and it is quite the sight from the sandy shorelines of Cocoa Beach.
Cape Canaveral is also home to many beautiful places offers great recreational activities including parks, manatee preservation parks, golf and helicopter tours.
Cocoa Beach Country Club Golf, Tennis & Swimming
A great place to golf is the Cocoa Beach Country Club. The Country club is located on a peninsula next to the Banana River Lagoon. The 27-hole waterfront golf course was renovated in recent years and now has some of the finest Paspalum greens in the county. The Cocoa Beach Country Club is second to none and is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy yourself. The country club also has lighted public tennis courts with a pro shop and constant activity involving the local high school teams, the Space Coast Tennis League, and numerous USTA teams. Tennis is available for all ages and all skill levels. And to top it all off, the Cocoa Beach Country Club has an outdoor heated and cooled 50-meter swimming pool. There is an area for toddlers as well as a lap pool for all qualified swimmers and a water slide.
Downtown Cocoa Beach
Downtown Cocoa Beach is a charming neighborhood right in the heart of Cocoa Beach. Along these seaside avenues you will see Cocoa Beach City Hall, Juice and Java Cafe, Jazzy's Mainely Lobster and Seafood restaurant, fine dining at the Pompano Grill, retail boutiques like the Secrets of Cocoa Beach, dessert shops, Heidi’s Jazz Club, ocean front dining music at Coconuts, and local service providers from wedding planners to Sand Dollar Realty of Brevard. Cocoa Beach also holds an annual Thanksgiving Art Festival and a Friday Fest every month with local food and entertainment! Bring your dog and your flip flops and you will be right at home here.
Cocoa Beach Pier
A historic landmark on Florida's Space Coast, the world-famous Cocoa Beach Pier stretches 800 feet over the Atlantic Ocean and is home to restaurants, bars, gift shops and live musical entertainment. In addition to great fishing, the Cocoa Beach Pier will offer fishing equipment rentals, beach rentals, fresh water showers, regulation beach volleyball courts, lifeguards year-round and some of the absolute best surfing on the East Coast!

Just over the bridge from Cocoa Beach on the mainland you’ll find Historic Downtown Cocoa Village, which is a great place to spend quality time with friends and family. There are more than 50 unique shops, galleries, restaurants and antique malls.
